This Canada Day is different for me. I’ve been rethinking my education.
I know what I was taught by the Canadian government in the 1990’s and I see the continual oppressive injustices brought against Indigenous people today. I grew up traveling by car across Canada during the summers. We would visit national parks, museums... I loved it all. How can I appreciate Indigenous history, art, dance, song, culture without both completely seeing the picture, and speaking up against injustice?
Indigenous people lost everything so that we could have something.

Today I’ve both donated to the Indigenous Women’s fund of Canada and I’ve enrolled in a FREE @ualberta course called ——Indigenous Canada.——-
