Photo by @DaisyGilardini Alaska is one of my favorite locations to photograph brown bears. When photographing bear cubs playing, it’s important to program your camera settings accordingly. You’ll be amazed to see how fast these little guys can move!
To freeze the action, you’ll need to shoot at a minimum of 1/2000s. If you’re photographing two cubs, you’ll need a bit more depth of field so that both subjects will be nice and sharp in the frame. I usually prefer an aperture of at least f8. If light conditions allow, I’ll push this even further, to f10 or more.
On this occasion, the smaller of the two brothers wasn’t in the mood to play. He just looked at the hysterical jumps his sibling was performing to try and get him to play.
