Photo by @bertiegregory | A curious arctic fox searches for prey on the west coast of the Hudson Bay in Manitoba, Canada. These foxes spend much of the year hunting for lemmings, a small brown rodent. As winter sets in, the lemmings stay underground. To combat this, the foxes use their incredible sense of hearing to listen for the faint footsteps of the lemmings under the snow. Once a target has been located, they jump up high and pounce to break through.
