Photo by Matt Borowick @mborowick | One of the last road trips I took earlier this year—before the pandemic hit—was traveling through California. This is one of the scenes I remember vividly: the sun setting just behind the Sierra Nevada. Among the many peaks of this mountain range is Mount Whitney, which stands at 14,500 feet (4,420 meters). Though I didn’t climb any of these mountains, the view alone is worth the drive to experience them.
