The plan was to visit many of the lesser known locations along the route. Even though it is incredibly popular, I couldn’t resist a chance to drive the Golden Circle, so I went straight from the airport to Þingvellir National Park and wandered in a jet-lagged haze. Sometimes I enjoy the head fog of exhausted travel; the tiredness dulls your senses and allows the fresh magic of new surroundings to feel almost dreamy. These little sheep were the first of about a million I would see in the next week. However, since they were my first, I found them extra special.
