A new gallery space on Brussels' rue Van Eyck cements @xavierhufkens as a leading light of the local art scene. Its inaugural show, @sterlingruby 's 'A Relief Lashed + A Still Pose', consists of colourful wooden assemblages that evoke windows.
The work responds beautifully to the architecture of the gallery, by @bernard_dubois, who is known for his bold, minimalist forms. There's generously proportioned windows that let in natural light and views of the back garden, and back-of-house spaces that are lined entirely in plywood, contrasting with the more conventional white-walled public galleries.
