Located in Puerto Escondido, on the Pacific coast of Mexico, @casawabi is a non-profit art centre, a space for community engagement, and a dream architectural destination. Its name references the Japanese concept of wabi-sabi, which embraces the ephemeral and imperfect.
.
Casa Wabi’s founder, the artist Bosco Sodi (@studioboscosodi), takes over our Stories today. Join him on a walkthrough of the buildings and pavilions by the likes of Tadao Ando, Álvaro Siza, Kengo Kuma and Alberto Kalach, and take in some glorious views of the landscape and ocean.
‘I have not met one architect, artist, or visitor who is not overwhelmed by this place when they arrive,’ Bosco tells us. We daresay that his virtual tour has a similar effect.
.
Pictured here, Bosco’s land art installation at Casa Wabi, titled Los Atlantes, is made from 102,400 bricks.
