I was so sure that every weekend would bring a new outdoor adventure whether it be loading up the car to go ski in Vermont, luring my kids up a mountain with peanut M&Ms the way my parents did with me, apple picking in a beautiful orchard in my home state of NH, or just riding bikes around the neighborhood. ⠀ ⠀ “The reality is that sometimes it's a challenge to get my kids outside. Sometimes they would prefer to stay inside. And yet, every single time we go for a hike or a ride, or a surf, or a ski, afterwards, when we are sitting around drinking hot chocolate by a warm fire or watching the sunset on the beach, they say to me, 'Wow Pop, you were right - that was so fun and I'm so glad we did this - help me remember that next time I tell you I don't want to go outside.'
