39 days in the NICU as I held my breath hoping and praying he’d pass every test. We unhooked his wires and leads, his name tag on his bassinet was taken down, and he was placed in a car seat. Our family will forever include the nurses who took care of him around the clock, and taught us parents on the sideline what to do. It’s been more than a month of them saying to me: “When you go home, don’t forget this, and make sure you do that” as the little guy learned to breath, to maintain his body temperature, and to eat. And we are finally on our own. Just in time for my first Father’s Day... my boy is home. #celianansel
