But I'm going to do my best to cover the important things. In the photo is Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera. They were two pioneers in the LGBTQ rights movement. I know for a fact that myself and the whole LGBTQ community would not be here and have the rights we do today if it wasn't for our black and brown Queer activists. So today and every day, I will stand up for all of you. BLACK LIVES MATTER. Period. And it's not to discredit all that white people face. We all matter. But let's be honest...most of us we will never experience what people of color go through. I don't know what it's like to be black. And I will never know the hardships they face every single day. But I do know that we should all be treated equally and with respect (which at this point is not happening). For so many years people have talked about it and preached. And most of the time have been civil. But there is still so much racism in this world and we must take action. By no means am I promoting violence or looting. But...hopefully voices are finally being heard and positive changes will be made. I am quite disappointed in the golf community for the lack of response and action on this issue. People are trying to be neutral and encourage love. And yes, kindness is great and all. But that won't stop injustice to the black community. Silence is supporting the oppressor. Just goes to show the majority of white privilege and the non inclusivity in our sport. It's pretty sad to be honest. We need to do better. On the other hand...I'm so proud of the LGBTQ community for being so vocal and proactive about it. It's amazing to see so many Queer people standing up for the oppressed. This month is Pride month and I think it's a perfect time to use our voice and our pride to continue the legacy that our colored advocates have left before us. Let's all do our part in coming together, educating each other, and speaking out to create change. We all deserve to live free of hate and discrimination.
