And I can confidently say that I’ve never been gayer.😂 Being a part of the LGBTQ community has allowed me to find myself. The friendships I’ve made through coming out has changed my life. Seeing so many people be out and proud has given me the courage to do the same. I never thought that I’d be able to live as authentically and unapologetically as I do today. I feel like I’m becoming the best version of ME and it’s been very fulfilling. I’m so grateful for the opportunities I’ve had to help others in their own journey. That was the main reason why I publicly came out. So I could inspire others, just as so many have done for me. Being given the platform to do that for people is more than I could have ever asked for. Although my journey has been very positive, it hasn’t come without its challenges as well. Being in an unhealthy/abusive relationship for two years was a big eye opener for me. I learned so much about myself, both good and bad. In that period, I forgot my worth. I tried so hard to save someone else while losing myself in the process. I lost my peace and my mental health. I started having anxiety/panic attacks, couldn’t sleep, and I felt so much shame. It’s still a struggle at times to deal with some of the residual trauma that comes with it. But it has been so fulfilling to find my own strength again. If anyone is going through something similar, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me, get help from a therapist or someone you trust. It can be isolating but you are not alone. In my coming out post, I wrote, “So I dare you…spread love. Let’s do our part to make this world a better place”. This time, I want to add a little more. BE VULNERABLE. SHARE YOUR STORY. CELEBRATE YOURSELF. BE VISIBLE. BE YOU. You never know how it can change someone’s life. Lastly, I want to thank every single person who has been a part of my journey. Thank you to those who have inspired me. Thank you to all my friends and family who have supported me and loved me unconditionally through it all. I love every single one of you so much.
