Continuing the conversation from Twitter: to my fellow white folk - if you are the person shouting “all lives matter!”, you need to stop and ask yourself why. Why is this another conversation that needs to be hijacked to be about YOUR opinion on the matter, your vision of what is most inclusive, your preferred message. We need to stand by the black community and LISTEN to what they are asking of us. If you are trying to argue against #blacklivesmatter with any number of arguments (all lives matter, blue lives matter) then know that you are actively causing harm. If you are afraid to speak up, you are actively pushing this back onto the shoulders of black folk. Racism is not a black or POC problem only. We need to be there and show up for these conversations at a bare minimum, the same as you would want people to do for you if you were in need. Art by @sacree_frangine
