edit: guys pls stop body shaming my plant 🙅🏼‍♀️ swipe right to see how I would have edited my body a couple years ago 🧐 in 2019 I decided to stop editing my body and skin. It was bothering me looking back at old photos and comparing myself to a version of me that was never real to begin with. I don’t love every part of myself, but I’ve learned to put less of an emphasis on my body. I hate how much of my 20’s I’ve spent feeling too embarrassed to wear certain clothes or bathing suits. Having a years worth of unedited photos of my body to look back at has been a really special thing for me. Once I got over the initial frustration of wanting to just bring my waist in a few inches, or lift my boobs, or smooth my skin, I started to feel good looking back at photos and knowing that my photos were an accurate representation of what I really looked like - and I still liked them. My body does many things for me but it’s not all that I am, nor is it where my value lies. 🖤
