I was just feeling real funky. . . I’ve had more of those days since becoming a mom and even more since quarantine. I’m sure it has to do with obvious things like lack of sleep and feeling isolated but also has a lot more to do with things like a loss of identity and feeling less productive (even though I am always doing something). . It’s hard when things get funky because you typically can’t put your finger on exactly what’s causing it so you can’t directly go in and fix it. For me personally, I just needed to hit reset and listening to @adelinegray and @ajeelenee talk about how they are coping as athletes training for Tokyo 202One during the “mental health and Sports during Covid-19” panel with @silencetheshame and @womenssportsfoundation really helped🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼. . . Name your thoughts- whether your on instagram comparing yourself or just generally having negative thoughts through out your day... name them “that’s a judgment” “that’s unnecessarily negative” “I’m a savage😋”... etc. . 3. Give Back- find someone to lift up when you’re feeling down. Call your Grandma💞 . 4. Pillars of yourself- if being athletic and exercising is a pillar of your life and it’s not as readily available, focus on the other pillars- relationships, creativity, rest and relaxation. . 5. Exercise- do anything-even if it means pushing your wheelchair up that huge hill to the park w a 20lb baby on your lap. . 6. Lastly, be grateful. Count every single one of them🙏🏼 . . I’m sure y’all know all of this and what works best for you when your feeling off but just in case you needed some fresh perspective or a reminder, I gotchu. Also, you’re not alone. . #loveyoumeanit #mentalhealth #reset #keepinitreal #yesthatsaspatula」5月16日 8時35分 - alanathejane
