This magazine is iconic in the disabled community and will no doubt inspire many people, disabled and non- disabled alike. I love that I’ll get to share this with Gunnar when he’s older too (little cover model) and this is an article that would no doubt have landed in my late grandma Joan’s collection of things written about me. One thing I’d just like to add to my overall evolution that Seth and I didn’t get into as much is that while I’ve fully embraced the role of being inspirational for what I’m capable of doing, it’s truly an honor, I’m also done feeling like it’s my job to make ANY ONE feel better about my paralysis by highlighting my athletic achievements. That’s never been why I play and compete in sports. More on that later. That being said, I want to thank @patty_cisneros_prevo_ply_ for contributing color to this story and for continuing to show me what it means to “sit tall” as a disabled woman.
