The season is short. The compression crux doesn't suit my strengths. It's hard to find partners. Finally, this past winter, I set aside the excuses and put 8 days of effort into Vogue. It turned out the hike was pretty fun and helped me build fitness. The season was plenty long enough, and the weather was bomber the entire month of December. The upper refrigerator block did suit my strengths after all. @seth_lytton was a super motivating partner, and we spent many fun and exhausting days up there sorting through the beta. And my 6 foot dangle arms were more than long enough to span the crux, pictured here in one of my favorite shots Arjan has ever taken. Feeling intimidated was legitimate, but my excuses were not.
