One of the final pictures that I shot for the "Last Voices of World War II", is also one of my favorites, is of Brooklyn based painter @FredTerna. Terna's amazing story of survival and resilience is one of the most moving personal stories I have heard. He was taken prisoner in 1939 when he was 16 and the Nazi's army marched into his home city of Prague, from there he was transported to Terezin Concentration camp. It is also there that he started to sketch the world around him. Bunks beds, railroad tracks, train cars and lines of people were some of his subjects. The escape was recaptured and lived in four different camps until the liberation. It wasn't until years later that he learned that his drawing had been saved and in Israel.
