ballerina projectさんのインスタグラム写真 - (ballerina projectInstagram)「This time has been difficult. There isn’t a replacement for the joy we experience working together in the language of our beautiful craft. Nonetheless, it has been moving to see so many artists around the world coming together to support the global human spirit during this time.  I look back at photos I’ve taken of my friends preparing for shows. I look back at photos taken after a performance, when we were sweaty but clearly joyous. I miss the smell of the studio, the knowing looks exchanged between people who have grown up in a complex world of beauty and pain together, and who understand each other deeply.  I feel so human. Some days, sitting on my bed with a plate and open laptop, I can’t believe I actually am a ballet dancer. Some days I do a simple plié to begin barre and feel the rush of joy and nostalgia fill my heart, and the joyous appreciation of my fluency in this craft lifts my spirits to the sky. My soul longs to speak with you again when we dance together. Remember, my brothers and sisters of our beloved world: every experience we have of the many emotions that make up our humanity- from the depths to the heights and those in-  between- these are adding to your artistry. These are teaching you invaluable lessons. I find great comfort in my faith, and this is one of my favorite verses: “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens...a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance...” -Ecclesiastes 3:1,4 Trust in the beauty of our shared experience. All suffering can be transformed into something greater-we know this from our years spent suffering for our craft. Our day will come to sing the song of our souls together again.
