Photo by @robert_ormerod | Guanacos can often be found roaming the high plains and mountains of Chile in the Atacama Desert—the driest desert in the world—where they survive on water-bearing cactus flowers and lichen. I made this photograph after my vehicle broke down and I had to wait for a replacement on a lonely mountain road, with only a few uninterested guanacos for company.
