The only way that we can truly measure what something really means to us is to consider life without it. Whilst we have it we may love it, enjoy it and even want it, but as the excitement and novelty wears off something that once meant the world to us can someday be forgotten and taken for granted. It doesn’t lose its value, we just fail to recognise its worth to us. We’ve most likely done it with shoes, clothes, pets, grandparents, partners, friends, parents, even our planet and certainly our freedom.
