A couple of things I need to say: first thank you all so much for your lovely and warm messages under my last two posts, wishing me a quick recovery and Norouz greetings.

Something I have noticed here on Instagram during these days of quarantine and the lockdown that is spreading in the world ever so quickly, is a(n unwanted) sly inconsideration in many of the posts that give tips and recipes for these times, or simply give an account of their own #quarantine.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Please let’s remember: many people have been hit hard economically by this whole #covid19 situation. Many of us CANNOT afford to support our favorite restaurants, or wine bars, or local little shops. So many of us must rethink the use of ingredients and stick to the more convenient ones, so it’s good to suggest recipes with the most basic ingredients (@sabrinaghayour is cooking exactly this type of recipes). So many people although bored, can’t afford to go through one or more fancy bottle an evening. Many of us have lost all business, and since so far there has been only talks but no actual help from the (Italian) government, I am confident in saying that I’m not the only one rationing my (limited) resources to last as long as possible.

Last, but certainly not least, HOME is not a “haven” to everyone. For many out there, specially women, home means being trapped with an abuser. For some, home means being exposed to family members that they had alienated for the the sake of their well being. Please take a moment to consider the fragile state of people’s mental health before depicting your perfect family lockdown. We’re all pretty much on the edge at the moment, but some are more than the others. Kindness has many faces.
