Not because it necessarily serves me well, but at a young age, something in me decided it was the safest place. Something in me decided that trust could only be found within myself. The extreme ways that the lives of people I still love began to change triggered fear in me. Therefore, my level of trust for others continued to shrink. To this day, it can be very hard for me to allow others to join me on my day to day journey. But now more than ever, it is evident that there isn’t much that a person has control of. It’s the believing that “I have control” that creates a false sense of security. So if thought is that powerful...if repeated thought can create a reality for someone then let us all be careful which thoughts we practice. Now more than ever, let us use this time to connect.
