“I am reminded often of a creation story that Alan Watts wrote about in The Book. To paraphrase, the idea was that the Supreme Being, omnipresent, and omniscient, wanted to have an experience of itself. In order to do this, it had to experience “other”. It then created man and put pieces of itself inside each of us, so that when it looked upon another, it could recognize itself in each of us- like looking in a mirror. But in this story, it hid so well that it forgot it was playing hide and seek, and it begin to believe that each of us is separate,Individual, and basically alone.
