My day on a plate! I often get questions about my diet or how I eat. I want to be clear when I say that I don’t follow any kind of diet - for me, it’s all about taking a balanced approach to food that is realistic in the long-term. I LOVE food, I believe it should bring people together. I enjoy dinners with lots of Mediterranean-style dishes with my family, and I eat healthy food to fuel my body. That isn’t to say I don’t indulge when I want to but I make sure that it’s all in BALANCE.
Here's what I ate today (M = Meal, S = Snack):
M1: Sourdough toast with fresh tomato, basil and lots of olive oil
S1: Watermelon, figs and some Greek yoghurt
M2: Quick tuna salad (with brown rice)
S2: Vegetable sticks and tzatziki
M3: Pasta and Yiayia's meat sauce
As you can see, I eat a lot of fresh fruit and vegetables as snacks and I make sure my meals include some kind of protein, carbohydrate (yes, that includes pasta 🍝) and a LOT of vegetables so I'm getting all the nutrition I need - I keep it really simple!
