Photo by @andrea_frazzetta | The village of Posada in Sardinia is perched on a small promontory near the Mediterranean Sea. This summer I was on the island working on a story dedicated to longevity for National Geographic magazine. Sardinia is a region famous for being a Blue Zone, one of the six areas in the world with the highest percentage of centenarians in good health. The remoteness of the villages in this region is one of the keys to longevity—the rough roads have forced inhabitants to maintain an excellent condition.
