It was wonderful to see all the people celebrating this dance we all grew up with. A dance based on the seduction of a man towards a woman. A handkerchief in their hand is used to make signals to each other of a coquetterie that goes on through the whole dance. The museum is now showing the traditional dresses that represent different regions of Peru, and projections of the book. I am always wanting to show all that defines Peru to the world, as there is so much to be discovered and we don’t have much opportunities to see them. Fue maravilloso ver a todas las personas celebrando este baile con el que crecimos. Una danza basada en el galanteo, el hombre intentando seducir a la mujer. Se usa un pañuelo en la mano para hacer señales de coquetería durante todo el baile. El museo ahora exhibe una selección de vestidos tradicionales que representan variaciones regionales de la marinera y proyecciones de las fotografías que componen el libro. Siempre quiero mostrar al mundo todo lo que define al Perú.
