A male of Atrato Glass Frog (Hyalinobatrachium aureoguttatum ) takes care of two masses of eggs under a leaf, over a stream in the Chocó Forest of Ecuador. This nearly threatened species of frog, like other species of this Genus, protects the eggs from predators actively. This male has extra work, having to watch over eggs in different growth stages. Once the eggs are hatched, the tadpoles drop into the water, continuing their life in this new enviroment.
