I’m just so excited over here with this new moulding. I loved this room before but the picture frame moulding really adds so much dimension! Next up: paint it and hang some things. (Swipe for the “before,” although it still looked good—photo was taken right after we re-did the mantel). And to answer some questions, this was not a #DIY. I wouldn’t trust myself to be precise enough for a job like this. (My DIY skills are pretty limited, anyway. I can paint a room and put furniture together. That’s about it.). Our home is almost 100 years old, the walls are plaster, and I needed to leave it to a pro. My friend used a local carpenter/contractor and I was obsessed with his work... the rest is history! #thisoldtudor #thisoldhouse

PS The silhouette is of my dad in the early 50s. For as long as I can remember, it hung in my grandparent’s bedroom, next to his brothers’ silhouettes. I’m glad a little piece of his childhood lives in my favorite room.
