Clearly there was wrongdoing. There’s overwhelming evidence that samples had been tampered with and that there were athletes who had taken illegal substances were able to compete internationally and get away with it, and there are people who helped them do it. I don’t disagree that those people should be punished. • The thing that gets me is that there are so many athletes who have never taken prohibited substances, who haven’t done anything wrong, and they are the ones who have to carry out the punishment for something others are responsible for. As an athlete training for the Olympics, all you are focused on is your own preparation and sacrifice. And to have the opportunity to compete under your country’s flag taken away because of something someone did completely outside of your sport, is a big shame. • The people who lied, hid, and tampered with evidence...they should absolutely be punished. But it’s hard for me to accept that a team like @synchrorussia, who has never had a doping violation, won’t be able to represent their country in the way they dreamed about their entire life.
