Here is an old video of me posing in 2012 at the @sheruclassic held in New Delhi, India. The year prior I competed and won the same contest held in Mumbai fresh off winning my very first Mr Olympia title. During these two events held in India, I realized the importance of competing around the world, as bodybuilding is held in over 190 countries and not everyone gets a chance to see us compete due to their own circumstances. The people of India have always been some of the most passionate, respectful and truly enthusiastic fans that when I was approached to come back to Mumbai this year for the IHFF @sheruclassic I couldn’t say no. My legacy of winning 7 Mr Olympias is great, but it also was these two post Olympia events that helped me reach a whole new fan base and have an opportunity to use my craft, bringing forth more awareness to bodybuilding along with overall health & wellness. I cannot express my appreciation and complete gratitude for being able to meet the people of India again and this time bring my beautiful @shuriecremona with me to share this experience. So far she has seen a glimpse of the love from the people here on day 1 of our trip and we both look forward to seeing everyone this weekend. Until then enjoy this badass video of me rocking the stage as you can see, hear and feel the energy in the arena that night. You can tell I had so much fun that I went against the rules and walked off the stage as I wanted to provide the people a chance to see me up close as many potentially would never have that chance ever again. Bodybuilding truly is about connecting your mind, body and spirit to achieve your personal work of body art. I have also learned one can appropriate that energy to connect with others in their pursuit of physical performance as it takes sometimes someone who has achieved something substantial to provide them encouragement and hope to go after one’s goals and aspirations. Posing for me is defined in many ways, but one I will leave you with is the ability for one to fully embrace their hard work and showcase their personal journey through a muscular, artistic flow of expression which provides a path well documented.
