Mariella Frostrup interviewed me for the HOW TO ACADEMY event last night in Westminster. Thanks to everyone who came. It was a good crowd and they even laughed at my lewd jokes. Mariella has done her homework, read my novel more than once and asked good questions. I am tricky not because I evade answering but because I often say too much and digress then forget what the question was. She didn’t seem to mind. Want to say something about Howard Stern. My “ugh” was not personal. His wife Beth is one of my most cherished female friends. His work ethic is extraordinary. But the memory of trying to speak to him too soon after my arrest and accusations of downloading child porn is just awful. That’s the “ugh”. I was about to go on air with him and just folded. I walked out of the studio. I knew he is a fan. But I also knew he was not the right person to speak to first. Not at that time. And I know he is less wild now. Some have commented that Roger rates him highly. That’s true. But I need to have a social meeting with Howard and Beth before I work with him and I will make that happen soon.
