Ky & I travel together often and he’s been all over the country since he was a 👶🏽 . . But that wasn’t my childhood. We didn’t take family vacations / never really went anywhere. Fancy restaurants weren’t an option and holidays / birthdays were the only time we received things that weren’t absolute necessities. We didn’t have the money. . Actually, My first time ever on a ✈️ was when I booked a TV show at 14. And that TV show/ plane ride was to Hawaii. . My first time in Hawaii was w/ my mom (her first time too) and now Ky’s is with me. Amazing that both times it’s because of my work. I’m proud of that. I’m proud that I could take my mom to Hawaii & now my son. I’m very fortunate and I remind Kyler where my family & I came from and not to take our lives/experiences for granted. I remind him that over 50 auditions got me to my first big job. Leaving school early to make it on time while doing homework in our 79 puke green Chevy suburban. My first car. . My step dad would miss work to take me from Lancaster (and of course my siblings had to tag along) to my auditions all over Bev hills/ Hollywood because he wanted me to have a shot if that’s what I wanted to do. Everything I have & everything I went through makes me the woman and the mother I am today. I want to do the same for Ky. He said his dream vacation is in Hawaii and I got to make that happen. He has been so amazing & turning into such a kind young man. Surprising me everyday with little things like holding doors open for women, letting everyone on the elevator before he does and telling each person he speaks to “have a great day”. .
