Loudly and proudly rocking my post baby curves 🙋🏼♀️ This is me 6 weeks and 4 days post emergency C section. After a section there’s no physical activity or lifting for AT LEAST 6wks. Exercise has been a big part of my life for the last 10yrs, so mentally at first I found it tough not being able to move like I wanted. Part of training well though is training smart & recovering long term. Not just a quick fix to “snap back”. At my heaviest carrying Mia I was 89kg. I usually sit comfortably around 72kg so I gained just over 2 and a half stone. I’m currently 76.6kg so I’m over half a stone off my pre pregnancy weight. Obviously everything is a lot softer, my body fat is higher and my muscle mass lower, so scales aside (I hate scales) I have a lot of work to do! Today I’ve been given the go ahead to start gentle exercise. I can do 30 min walks with the pram, glute bridges & my pelvic floor exercises. From 10weeks PP I can start my Pilates again but I won’t be weight training until after 16 weeks. I want to do it sensibly and ensure my ab separation closes. I’m lucky that my abs only parted 1cm when it could have been over 6cm. Despite the madness & trauma getting Mia into this world she actually caused very minimal damage. I hope new mums realise they don’t have to be back to their post baby body so quickly. Growing a human for 9 months is a big deal and it’ll take longer than a few weeks to get your body back to how you want it. I’m happy I can now start to introduce light training back into my day, but the bigger picture is that even if I couldn’t and I had to wait even longer, it’s ok because I have the most beautiful little healthy girl and the last 6weeks at home have been exhaustingly wonderful 🥰 I said I’ll keep you posted on my pre baby training so I will. It starts tomorrow with a 30 min walk with mum and Mia and I’m going to be more aware of my food choices and eat like I did before being pregnant. In the mean time, I’m happy taking training slowly and it’s actually quite nice to rock some curves, Gorka loves them 😜 Congrats to all mums and mums to be! We’ve done ace, we’re wonderful and our little humans think we’re the best thing in the world ❤️

I had a c section breached. But sadly I was very I'll. Did nearly die. Only got I kidney and that was a lot of problems .I couldn't have any more children but at least I had one. He was perfect when he was born. 4lb 2oz. Boy we named him Ryan he is now 31 this year hes our world. Due to problems with birth my only kidney is not good. I'm now on kidney transplant list and my son always say was it his fault I'm poorly. Never I would do it all again. I'm so happy you and Mia doing well you to will be a Amazing mother. 👏👏❤️

You look amazing Gemma! I had a c section 10 weeks ago. I trained at the gym up until the week before hoping that it would help after giving birth. The c section was a surprise and so I was gutted afterwards when I was left with a big flabby tummy and couldn’t exercise. I have walked my legs off most days but stuffed my face also as I think well my belly’s big anyway! I have bought your book and plan to start your 12 week programme when I am 12 weeks postpartum. I look forward to following your journey 💖💪🏼 #supermums 🙌

Almost 2 years since I had my csection with my 2nd and it was a massive adjustment for me to take my time and wait till my body was ready. I had really bad sciatic pain afterwards as well for about a year(still bothers me a bit now) but that first HIIT class back at 14 weeks was amazing! My pt friend runs classes where we can take the kids so for me that helped massively as hubby was away with army.

I really love your posts, I keep wanting to get back into exercise and keep using every excuse but actually taking it step by step is a really good start. So tomorrow I'll be taking my 3 year old daughter, 2 year old son and 1 year old boxer out for a thirty minute walk/chase/pull/roll and whatever else they chose 🙈🤣💪 #wegotthis #mentalhealthmatters #lookafteryourself #letsdothis

Aww your bubba girl crashed into the world just a few days after mine 💕 I also had a C-section but only difference here is I don’t want my pre baby body back!! I’m a stone and a half lighter now than I was before I was pregnant! Diabetic pregnancy and eating minimal carb and sugar really helped! All mums and new mums should be proud of their bodies for it created a miracle !!

U look amazing!! It’s the most amazing thing growing a little human!! Well done and I’m sure ul get the body u want back in no time but just take it easy. They say it takes 9 months for ur body to make a human and 9 months for it to get over it too (not sure who ‘they’ are but one little step at a time. U look so happy MamaG xx
