What helps bring you back to the present?
I like - inhale for 6 counts, (hold for 2) exhalation for 8, (hold for 2). Cycled for 2 minutes. Short & sweet.
The longer out breath sends a signal from the brain to the body & nervous system that it’s safe to relax.
Anyone got any favourites for shifting from sympathetic to parasympathetic brain state? Saltwater bath / walk in nature are always effective too.

Simply the act of smiling can do amazing things. I meditate twice a day which removes history and future and puts me in the present for twenty minutes at a time. Cold water immersion I do every morning, it's amazing. Also I go through a list of thanking people in my head, from all the people I know, to all the ones who inspire me, and all the ones who dedicate their lives to helping others or the planet. I also do a breathing exercise if I need to reset quickly.

I love the brahmari breath too , it brings in the sacred Om , which certainly delivers !
Also the Kapalbhati breath has taken me to sublime realms of peace .
Too many things to mention here , that’s why eternal being is so wonderful, there is time for it all .
Sadhana is a blessed way to start every day .

@graciedot things like this is what’s useful when you start going on a negative spiral because no one else can stop you but you - no matter what we say if your in the wrong mindset you’ll just deflect it and says it’s not true. breath really helps even when in pain xxx

Pay attention to your 5 senses. Right now what can you see, what can you hear, smell etc. It shifts your attention from the inside (listening to your mind) to the outside reality ( where your life happens).🙏
