Photo by @Sofia_Jaramillo5 | Sheep jump out of a truck as they are let out to graze near Sunnyside, Washington. Sheep have to be moved to new areas every two days to avoid overgrazing. I first learned about sheep herding in the western United States when I was a young kid. I was mountain biking, came around a bend and accidentally crashed into a band of sheep in a forest near Ketchum, Idaho. Ever since then, I've been curious about sheepherding in the American West and continue to work on projects exploring it. bubbawatermelonhead I ran into one of these trucks during a road trip at a rest stop, cows. Cows to be sent for slaughter, I couldn’t help but cry, that’s never happened to me before, crying uncontrollably. Maybe I felt their fear, I don’t know, but horrible conditions, stuffed in there like they were products. To some people they are. Couldn’t even stand up, standing in feces and pee, just despicable. That’s one of the biggest reasons I went vegan, only when you see it up close is when you really get the drastic dilemma of it all.
