More strange beauty in a home of spirits I revisited in Armenia. There were no beds or kitchen. No bathroom other than a toilet resting alone in the living room. The electricity was off as before. It was nearly three years since my first visit to this abandoned apartment above a coffeehouse I frequented each morning last week during @bridgingstories 2, and while nothing had changed, the inner space during this time was like all of us, reshaped. More beautiful. Discarded objects had been moved about the home in gentle ways as if someone had cared. Photographs we saw scattered on the floor in August 2016 were no longer there, likely collected by others who passed through these five quiet rooms. What was most interesting, someone who visited this home of souls had painted the walls various colors. And this chair I photographed last Thursday, almost baroque in its details of decay, was previously not here, positioned that day as if recently used. I so love these moments of timelessness.

johnstanmeyer @hasmosis it’s located above the coffeehouse across the street from the Trufekayan hotel. it’s not really a public place, just abandoned in transient passages
