‘I’m too old/too fat/too something else for that dress!’. Ever told yourself that? 🙁

This dress from @simplybeuk is a lot brighter🌈 than in looked online and when I first tried it on I thought I should return it because I’m too old to wear something so bold. Um what? What does that even mean? Where is the rule book that says you hit a certain age/weight/anything else for clothes? Who makes these rules up? NOBODY! You can wear what you like!!! 💪🏻

Clothes are just bits of fabric we use to cover our body! Just frill and fluff! If you’re happy, you think it’s pretty and you’re not hurting anyone else, GO FOR IT! 💖Life is short, live the day!

I wore this tee-shirt dress and 3 irl people said it looked nice! Hurrah! Nobody called the police to say a woman of my age was wearing bright colours. Nobody really cared at all but if they did, that’s on them, I felt I looked lovely! Woo! .
Styling- This is a t-shirt dress so was quite shapeless. My body shape is a pear with a lot of weight in my tummy and hips so to break it up a bit I added a cropped denim jacket (from that lovely plus size range I bought out in 2015! Should I do that again?) and the cross body bag helps it look less blocky. I did experiment with a long necklace or using a belt to add shape but neither looked quite right for causal daytime. I think this also would have looked cute with pink trainers. I might even go absolutely gaga and wear it with tights in the winter! How’d you like them apples?🥰

See, me, I find those glasses quite daring and out there; don't know if I could wear them. lol But the dress is lovely.
For me, I'm always annoyed at the length. I find for a bigger girl, it's most flattering when the skirt hits at the knee or an inch below. But sadly, at just 5'8", most skirts and dresses come too short, thus accentuating fat knees and the jibbly part above it, esp in the back and when moving...

I used to get so anxious in what I wore in case I got judged but then I realised that when walking around town you walk past people for a few seconds and who really remembers what you wore or to be honest who cares?! If they don’t like it they’ll have their own opinion then walk on and get on with their life! Now I feel a lot better 🙌🏼✨

Thank you for this post; I needed this reminder! I've been trying to lose some weight lately and have been afraid to wear anything outside of jeans and loose t-shirts most days to "cover" myself, when in reality all I'm doing is wasting my time and days hiding vs living. You look gorgeous and I love those colors on you!! 💖
