Made an effort for breakfast with @elenalucie this morning. I think there’s something really therapeutic about slowly and carefully applying your makeup, for me it’s an act of #selfcare 💖

Foundation was @M·A·C Cosmetics UK & Ireland Studio Sculpt (I’m NW20) with a damp @Real Techniques sponge, eyes were @loreal liner, @Too Faced mascara, MAC Paint Pot (in ‘painterly’, @sigmabeauty brushes (gifted), @Huda Kattan palette and @Benefit Cosmetics UK Goof Proof Eye Pencil.
Contour was Benefit Hula (gifted) and MAC MSF in Soft and Gentle.
Lips @byterryofficial Lip Gloss in the brightest pink they have- when I get in I will check the exact shade and amend.

Really enjoyed taking my time and feeling good for it. Does makeup do that to you too? 💄👌🏻❤️

healthylovelyliving I think doing makeup is a really fun and creative process!! But I tend to find it takes a lot of my energy to do it ‘properly’ these days, and I don’t like how my skin looks and feels after taking it off either. So I have learned over the last few years to enjoy my face and skin ‘as is’ most of the time, which kind of means I enjoy putting makeup on for special occasions now even more than before, as it’s something unusual and fun, instead of an everyday event!! It was quite a big deal for me to grow the confidence to go out places makeup free too, so I enjoy both sides of the coin as it were!! ☺️✌🏻 I love this photo btw; I can almost smell the powders 🥰🥰💖 PS. I think enjoy watching you put your makeup on more than I enjoy putting it on myself; is that weird?! It’s like watching art 😘💕

chloe_astill Totally agree as well! Love taking the time to put makeup on without being rushed and feeling like I've spent that time showing myself some love, care, and appreciation! Unfortunately a lot of these brands in your photo are tested on animals and not cruelty free though, Louise 😔🚫🐇 love the photo though, v aesthetic

epenny_ People don’t understand why I get up so early but it’s because I find taking my time to get ready and apply make up (and often watch one of your videos whilst I do) the best self care to start the day 💛

lemonnbright Yes! Not every day for work, because then I end up getting burned out on makeup (wah) but for weekends and going out I love to really take my time and play with eye shadow!

gabzlou I think if I really learnt the techniques of make up, I’d find it so so therapeutic too haha😂 I’m so rubbish at stuff like this 😭 glad you enjoyed yourself today ✨ 😊
