This has been a season of facing fears, both big and small. I’ve been learning and re-learning that with each fear faced, the better I feel within myself. Paradoxical in a sense because it’s easier and natural to want to run from them or to procrastinate, but it is far more rewarding and a great way of taking care of one’s self when facing them. And sometimes the smallest ones seem the most daunting. Something as simple as making a doctor or dental appointment. Today I crossed another item off my fear list. It was the most inconsequential task but one I just cannot stand (sort of like doing taxes for some). And what a wonderful feeling to get it out of the way first thing today. I’m by no means an expert by any stretch but I am taking mindful steps each day to practice a little more and then even further so that it’s not just a season but a cultivated lifestyle of walking through the things that are easier to brush aside and in turn build more joy. Because that’s the trade off each time. And each of us are worth our own investment. So here’s to that, to you and to life! 🌻
