A walking path winds through a tunnel of bamboo in Sagano Bamboo Forest. Known not only for its sights, it is also known for its sounds. As the wind passes through the tightly packed bamboo, it creates a peaceful sound like almost nothing else. It is designated as one of the country’s “100 Soundscapes of Japan,” by the Ministry of the Environment, to encourage the local population to get out and appreciate the country’s acoustic wonders. #Kyoto #Sagano #bamboo #soundscape
