Summertime festivities - Dervishes, who ascribe to Sufism, a form of Islamic mysticism, incorporate trancelike dances into their rituals performed at celebrations. #dervishes #sufism #Islam #dance #Iraq #Tikrit

This has nothing to do with Sufism nor Islamic “mysticism”, Those are not “dervishes “ they are normal Iraqi’s from Tikrit performing a traditional dance at a party or festival called “Chobi” , I know because I’m an Iraqi, living in Iraq,( check your resources before posting false information using fancy words to sound interesting)

@yamashitaphoto I used to follow your gallery with interest but since you can't even tell dervishes from Bedouins dancing at some festivity I wonder how trustworthy your stories have been so far.
razuuuuu
are there any other resources describing it as sufism or is it your personal opinion? because as an admirer of Rumi and his whirling dervishes this seemed really different to me.

The story has nothing to do with the picture, Yamashita san. I'm from Iraq and the guys are probably dancing on a wedding or welcoming a guest. Pure Bedwin behaviors.

The photo has nothing to do with Sufism, it's a traditional CHOUBY pronounced /tʃɔːbi/. This dance is performed in happy occasions, such as weddings.
