📖 ☕️ MENTAL HEALTH DAY!
Today I’m taking a step to better MY health and I’m not talking about arms, abs or intermittent fasting! I’m talking about taking time to fill my cup and specifically, rest my brain! I’m very happy in my marriage and my career but I still have to be cognizant of the amount of energy I’m expending because even energy that is expended for passion and happiness is still energy being sent outward. So what exactly am I going to do?
1. Today, I’m finding a new therapist. Yes! I’m going to talk to someone because it’s really important for me to just vent. I may laugh. I may cry. I may sit in silence - but I know it’s going to put me on a path to be consistent with releasing anything that could possibly hold me back, internally!
2. I’m going to workout! HARD! When I do a hard workout, I feel emotional healing because there’s something great about pushing myself to the point where I have to believe in myself to get to the next second!
3. I’m going to spend time with my boys because connecting with them after being away for a few days heals my heart! Truth be told, it breaks every time I leave them!
4. I’m going to get a massage and hangout at the spa for an hour. There are many studies that show going to the sauna a few times a week is good for the body!
5. I’m going to the movies ALL BY MYSELF just because I want to eat popcorn and a soft pretzel at the same time. 🤣💪
6. I’m going to cuddle with @scottphotobombs because he’s my #SafeSpace!
I know this is a lot but we have to be aware of our energy and how to refill it. Full disclosure, there are so many people out there who are holding things inside, are afraid to express themselves because of what others will think, or just out of embarrassment!
IT IS OKAY TO BE VULNERABLE.
IT IS OK TO GET HELP.
IT IS OK TO GIVE BACK TO YOURSELF.
If you or anyone you know needs to release some energy, talk to someone and plan a day for yourself. It could really save your life!

After 3 pregnancies back to back to back I struggled taking care of myself. I kept thinking it wasn't about me anymore, it's about them. Pregnancy didn't end when they were born, the nursing was the toughest. Nursing meant no time for sleep, hygiene or eating. My lactation specialist told me now studies show mothers who take time for themselves attend better to their babies. She encouraged me to sleep that extra hour at night and make that healthy meal while baby cries it out for a few minutes or take that quick shower.

I hope this reaches you and even if it doesn’t I’m happy I put this out there- you are gifted in inspiring others to reach not only their fitness goals but other things they really want in life- I appreciate the insanity workout you created I had doubts it would work for me but I was wrong! Wow, just everything about this post is WOW! TRUTH!!! Sounds like a perfect day to me! I like to take these days for myself as well, even just a few hours to recharge! Often I just need to be ALONE and not take care of anyone else! Therapy is so important! Every so often I get overwhelmed and go just to talk things out with someone objective is necessary, and I was a therapist myself before twins! Thanks for reminding us and setting an example of self-love!

I take a #mentalhealthday once a month, no kids, no hubby, just me and whatever my soul needs that day. And then, once a year, I take a mom-cation, which always includes spa time. You can’t pour from an empty cup and ever since I’ve been on this journey (which started with T25, btw, thank you for that!), I prioritize not only my physical health, but mental and spiritual as well. Thank you for this post!! ?? ?

Yes, yes and more yes. We all need a mental health break. Today my husband is leaving for a mini camping trip, because he is feeling the mounting pressure of day to day life. Ok encourage this because I love him and care for his well-being. Also, when he takes care of himself, WE as a couple benefit. He encourages me to take time for myself as well, for the same reasons.
