Steller sea lions are true giants (up to 11 feet/ 3.2 m long) and are still fairly common along parts of Canada's west coast. Here populations of their preferred prey, sand lance and herring are relatively abundant. Further north in Alaska these oily, calorie rich fish have become rare and in turn sea lion populations have dramatically decline. #canada #ocean #picoftheday #greatbearrainforest #coast @pacificwild
