Is this Italy's coolest city? Bold, brash and a little rough around the edges, #Naples is one of those cities that you either love or hate. But, with its strong community spirit, unsanitised street culture and crumbling architecture, there's no doubt that it attracts those wanting to experience a raw and untamed side of #Italy. Tap our bio link to find out why Naples is the coolest place to be right now.

Naples, like most big cities, has many faces. The bad and the good ones. Naples has 3.000 years of history, Chiaia district is chic, Posillipo offers amazing views of the beautiful bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius. Vomero is great for shopping. Neapolitans are the most generous and funny people I know. Napoli has gifted the world with Pizza, Buffalo Mozzarella, Limoncello, Ragù sauce, Babà, the best espresso in the world and world known songs (‘O sole mio, Volare etc). Napoli is also the gateway to some of the most beautiful places on Earth: Capri, Sorrento, Amalfi, Positano (just to mention a few). Don’t let negative reviews put you off. Do some researches, plan your trip and have a great time in Naples. Napoli has to be one of the most interesting and beautiful cities in the world. And remember when "When you come to Naples, you cry twice: once when you arrive and once when you leave it". No matter how bad the first impression is, Naples will always have a special place in your heart.

@theoverpreparedtraveler obviously it depends what you are looking for. I just love wandering the streets of Quartieri Spagnoli, discovering some amazing Street Art, having a Spritz at Cammarota and a chat with some locals, watching the sunrise at Lungomare, going for a swim in Gaiola or Marechiaro, hanging out at Piazza Orientale at night, eating as much Pizza as possible and enjoying the fact that it has real cheese, visiting the Museo Archeologico with its crazy exhibits from Pompeii or the MADRE. And I could go on...

@orgoglio.campano don't worry about it. Some people just really like destinations that are pretty, perfect and made for tourists. Naples is not like that. It's a buzzing, authentic, beautiful city full of beautiful people. I studied there for 6 months and I'd move there instantly. However, tastes are different. Even though I think someone who only spent 1 day in a city should probably not judge it.

true, even though it was love at first sight for me when I came to Napoli. I just needed to write a comment, because I think many of the things people said here are pretty rude, for example @vanessalovestowander 's comments. Sure just because I love a place it doesn't mean everyone else has to, but still.. People should show some respect.

I’m so sad to say we did not enjoy Naples! I wanted to love this city so badly, but while walking I had literal TRASH fall on my head from someone who had thrown it out the window. Don’t get me wrong the pizza was incredible, but we live in a very urban/rough part of LA and Naples was even too much for me.
