PART 6

I know a lot of people are rushing to see who had the bad breath but before that, you need to understand that the hustle to get a job before the end of your service year didn’t start today.
Back then, Every Tuesday and Thursday, Guardian Newspaper always advertised Job openings and people spent a lot of time sending their CVs to these companies.
Now it’s a lot easier because some of these companies just upload these vacancies on their websites or social media platforms.

I bought the guardian Newspaper on a random Thursday and saw the job opening. I applied for a role in the call center which was one the positions that didn’t require a prior experience.
I was invited for an aptitude test by Philip Consulting firm in Lagos and the only flight going from Bauchi to Lagos was ADC with a 3 times- a week operation.

I drove to Bauchi, left my car with my friend and school mate, Nonso and boarded the Tuesday flight to Lagos.

Rocking a denim pant, T-shirt and NYSC boots, I sat down on the window seat.
Few minutes later, he dropped his backpack on the seat beside me and put his travel luggage on the compact above us.
He sat down and then turned to me
Passenger : Corper ?
(Then it hit me! First of all, I never had a problem that he had a bad breath, I was just surprised that he couldn’t smell it himself )
Nobs : Yes
Passenger : Going to Lagos?
( Dude, we are both on a flight going to Lagos, what do you think? I’m going to Owerri ?) Nobs : Yes
Passenger: That’s good. I’m impressed that you are flying. Most corpers around here just take the bus.
Nobs : I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that.
Passenger: Is this your first time or you live there ?
Nobs : It’s not my first time and no? I don’t live in Lagos.
Passenger ; Lagos is fine. * I don’t have a problem with the fact that he was trying to strike up a conversation with me. He was always asking annoying questions while trying to sound as expert in Lagos affairs*

Nobs :I know
Passenger: I go there for business and I stay in a big hotel in Surulere. *I was trying to find a way to discourage him from talking to me but the plane hit turbulence*

Passenger: Allah Ya Haramta
He threw up on me
