The other day at an @imdb pre-shoot for @コミコン・インターナショナル, I got to gush at @therussobrothers about how deeply I love their movies. @avengers #infinitywar and #endgame are two amazing flicks I’ll never forget, but more importantly? I’ve been in the movie biz for 25 years now, so I know how the sausage is made, so to speak - maybe not on the scale of a @marvelstudios joint, granted, but ultimately, a film’s a film. Movies were once magic to me - so magical, I dreamed about making them my life. And my dream came true! But I always imagined the trade off of that dream of being a filmmaker (even one who only makes Kevin Smith flicks) was that I wouldn’t feel the magic the way I did as a kid, because now I knew how the Magicians make their tricks work. But then came #therussobrothers - talented and passionate storytellers who dug the same goofy characters and stories that I loved as a kid. So when they make these @Marvel Entertainment movies and treat them as seriously and as lovingly as they do, I enter the theater and I’m no longer a filmmaker (though most critics will tell you I wasn’t a filmmaker *before* I entered the theater): I’m just a movie fan once more. Those Marvel masterworks make me feel like I’m a kid again - the kid my Dad took to the movies every Wednesday for a $2.00 matinee. I feel about these movies how I felt about @スター・ウォーズ and #raidersofthelostark when I first saw them eons ago, my Dad at my side. I loved #wintersoldier and #captainamericacivilwar and Infinity War and Endgame because they not only dialed my clock back and made me feel young and happy - those movies are so good, they bring my Dad back to me for a couple of hours. It’s like he’s right there next to me at the Marvel movies, waiting until after the flick ends to ask me who everyone was and talking about the best scenes on the drive home. That’s a precious gift, man. The Russo Brothers go beyond being great directors: the Russo Brothers are an emotional time machine. Thank you, Boys! It’s been wonderful to feel like my Old Man can still take me to the movies... #KevinSmith #joerusso #anthonyrusso #marvel #imdb #imdboat #marvelstudios

@thatkevinsmith I get my love for these movies from my Dad too. I lost him 9 years ago. What you just posted here explains exactly how I felt after I saw Endgame! There is nothing like it. I almost felt like he was in the theater sitting next to me. I had the same feeling today at Far From Home. Thankfully I have passed on the love for these movies to my son. He is a huge fan! He also has autism and will be 10 years old this week. He is absolutely obsessed with movies and DVDs and probably owns over 1000 of them. Also in the past week and a half your name has come up at my house A LOT! My husband is a HUGE fan of yours & actually introduced me to your films. ❤️ Sunday 6/23/19 he survived “The Widowmaker”. We also found out at the hospital that he has Type 2 diabetes. Knowing your story and your lifestyle changes for the better have helped him start making BIG changes to get healthy. Thank you for being an inspiration in film and life.

A true testament! What they do is so beyond... even watching SpiderMan Far From Home. And me getting alllllll the feels (?) whenever Iron Man is seen or mentioned lets me know Im not even emotionally ready for a post Iron Man world. These are just characters! But Im so emotionally invested that I still grieve him. Seeing Peter and Happy talk about their friend Tony breaks my heart. And thats a world that these guys had a huge hand in creating. All the love! ?

Well said! Sometimes I feel Civil War gets lost in the shuffle: that movie is still my favorite of the Marvel flicks. It’s like a Tom Clancy novel with Captain America ??? The building of Cap and Falcon’s friendship was perfect. Still, an incredible movie that gets lost with the cast-and-vfx packed movies that followed.

Here here sir! Please tell me you've seen far from home?! Took my boy to see it today and in my humble opinion it's the best ever spidey film ever! @tomholland2013 is the webhead we've waited for for so long! Can't wait for the new Jay&Silent Bob movie btw #hyped

Kevin that was well put. I feel the same way about the time warp. We may have gotten the best of the Marvel movie mania, but it really has encouraged me to expect good future stories and after the Russo project, it’s very big shoes to fill indeed.

3 of my favorite directors in 1 photo... so awesome. I love Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Infinity War, and Endgame so much. Silent Bob’s monologue in Chasing Amy is one of my favorite movie scenes.
