The Smith Kids, circa 1990. We gathered at my brother Don’s behest for this portrait, which was a gift for Mom and Dad. But I suspect the real reason he wanted to take this photo was because Don knew he was in the middle of an amazing hair month and wanted to preserve the moment. I, on the other hand, was knee-deep in the middle of a mullet. Don said to dress nicely so I got that shirt from a long-defunct store in the Monmouth Mall called OakTree - which is where I also bought the original Silent Bob coat for $10, brand new, in a summer clearance sale. Three years after this photo was taken, I’d pull on that discount trench and make Clerks. #KevinSmith #family #siblings
