Sometimes, in a world full of despair and atrocity and heartbreak, small and easily overlooked omens are monumental. I’ve been overwhelmed with the stresses of the world and the challenges my own children face, and the only path to relief is action and progression.

I’ll post some ways to get involved in the child detention crisis in my stories. One step forward today, friends. (She’s thriving in ballet and I’m so hopeful!)

Sometimes I feel like I'm akin to the sister in The Secret Life of Bees who needed to stuff the wall with notes of her pain. But I do love being able to relate to others this way.... but anyway... I echo the others, love how you use your voice and your platform where others might crumble. ❤️?

kimzewdu As someone whose innocent husband spent 5 months in immigrant detention, the atrocities of the system, even for adults, are numerous. No family should be experiencing the separation like our family experienced. Keep using your voice to help our families as the government suppressed our voices.

maxx_is_maxx I was a high-energy, anxious kid with a lot of enthusiasm that manifested in both positive and negative ways... Ballet was the most amazing thing that ever happened to me (that discipline! The movement! The expression!) I’m a dancer to this day ? You’re all doing great!
