As a little girl I chose climbing trees and building dens over playing with dolls and having teddy bears tea parties. As a teenager I listened to heavy metal and rock with black hair and piercings and as a woman I would rather slam weights and climb mountains instead of wearing makeup and having my nails done. I never felt the need to be a girl, despite the body that I’ve been born into. I’m naturally attracted to the outdoors, strength and conditioning which leads me to be surrounded by strong male influences and I’m therefore more at ease around guys than I am girls but I’m thankful that the girls in my life are pure spirited, loyal and trustworthy - those I know would take a bullet for me just as I would for them.
