I was about to finish my story about fasting and talk to you about what it feels like - and what it feels like to come back home to your kitchen! And that’s when I realized I have never really showed you my kitchen!!!!

The center of my life!

Maybe you’ve seen parts of it in my stories - but here it is. It’s white and airy and big enough so I can cook with my friends and my family (hi dad!!!). It’s also a place from where you can see the living room and the dining room so there is this very happy feeling of being able to cook while people are having drinks. In other words, it’s chill.

Like every other parts of the house, @sarahshermansamuel and I didn’t make it too precious. I actually removed the marble on the island that was so stained it wasn’t funny (marble is incredibly porous, forget a lemon on it and you’re done) to replace it with some @caesarstoneus that resists all my forgetten lemons.
We used @semihandmade doors (designed by Sarah!) with @IKEA USA backs. We got this beautiful white @cafeappliances stove and fridge that fit the vibe so well. Sarah rooted for the earthy tones of the back of the island with these @concretecollaborative tiles and I thank her for it. Lastly, these lamps by @handandeyestudio and stools from @designwithinreach - How cool?

Haven’t had a kitchen like that ever. Or, yes, maybe the first time my parents bought a house and they were SO PROUD because they had what we call in France an “American kitchen” 😂 (means an open kitchen)(and then you wonder why I ended up here). Until my mom realized all the kitchen smells would go in the house and decided she hated it.

Well mom, I don’t agree with you. Nothing makes me happier than smelling food around the house!!! Also what’s up, just get a good hood!

All right after all these happy materialistic considerations (but life is all about balance, isn’t it?) I’ll figure out a way to get my last chapter on fasting to you very soon. Check out my stories for an update!

ilariafatone Juste splendide ?J’adore les cuisines au milieu de l’espace de vie mais Mr cuisine tellement et pendant des heures (un fan absolu de @ottolenghi sait passer des heures aux fourneaux ??‍? ... autant dire que ça serait ingérable pour le reste de la famille ? nous aussi on a choisi du « ikea customisé » en mettant le gros budget sur le plan de travail. Un choix jamais regretté ??

eb67m Magnifique!! J’adore les cuisines américaines ( on dit comme ça aussi en Espagne?) et je suis persuadé que les cuisines reflètent l’esprit des personnes qui les habitent. Pour ce qui concerne le jeûne, pour moi c’est un nettoyage physique et émotionnel. Et quand on a fini, c’est comme un nouveau chapitre du livre de notre vie.

mannayakasha In my past life I worked with kitchens as VM and love me a big airy kitchen but I still kind of agree with your mom?? kimchi, bone broth and ultra-garlicky chicken that I make doesn’t smell good on sofa and curtains ?

interior.monologue I agree! The kitchen is the center of the home in homes that I like to live in or to visit. Doesn’t really matter what the size is, it’s about the feeling. Right? Yours looks and sounds like perfection. ?

debbiedaiseart House smells....how funny, I was just sitting here smelling the aroma of the Sautéed oyster mushrooms with balsamic glaze I just had for dinner, it smells cozy! ??
